In the event of an emergency at UMinho’s premises, follow the guidelines below to ensure a fast and effective response:

Steps to follow:

1. 1. Ensure your personal safety.

• • If you are not in a safe place, move to one immediately.

2. Observe the situation from a distance, without putting yourself at risk.
3. Contact UMinho’s internal emergency number: 253 60 10 10.
   
   • When you call, clearly provide:

• • • The nature of the emergency (e.g. fire, injuries, gas leak, etc.);
    • The exact location (building, floor and room);
    • The number of people at the scene;
    • The number of injured people and, if possible, the type of injuries.

4. Do not hang up, unless:

• • Your safety is at risk; or
  • You are instructed to do so.

5. Wait for the emergency teams to arrive and, if able, provide them with additional information.
6. Follow all instructions given by the emergency teams.

In the event of a serious medical emergency:

1. Call 112 immediately.
2. Then inform UMinho’s internal emergency number: 253 60 10 10
