Environment

Environmental sustainability practices across UMinho’s activities reflect the institution’s commitment to minimising environmental impacts and promoting the well-being of the academic community.

Priority is therefore given to implementing procedures that improve environmental performance, particularly in relation to the management of waste generated at UMinho.

Indoor air quality on UMinho’s premises is also a key concern, with regular monitoring carried out by accredited external bodies to ensure a healthy environment for all occupants.

As part of its efforts to preserve and enhance its trees, UMinho has been carrying out significant work to conserve and improve its existing green spaces.

Waste management

UMinho is committed to environmental sustainability, seeking to balance environmental protection, pollution prevention and socio-economic development. This commitment is put into practice through good practices and appropriate procedures for managing waste generated on its premises.
